An exciting new pizza restaurant opens in Bristol this weekend and to celebrate, they are giving away 500 free pizzas from Saturday 11th – Wednesday 15th November. That’s 100 of these bad boys a day.
Franco Manca is the brainchild of Neapolitan pizza lover Giuseppe Mascoli, whose aim was to bring authentic, delicious Italian pizzas to the streets of London. Reviews were top shelf (Marina Loughlin claimed it was the best pizza in the city) and Franco managed to secure different sites across the capital, confirming its popularity. It’s now extending its offering down to Bristol, with an 80 seater restaurant opening on Clare Street.
I tried Franco Manca a few years ago whilst visiting a friend in London; it was simple and unfussy (not to mention delicious) and also obvious that quality ingredients were being used, the price made me gasp as well. Pizzas start from £4.95 with the top end costing £8.25. Slow rising sourdough is baked in a wood-fired oven for 20 hours, creating a soft and light base whilst the mozzarella production takes place on a small Somerset farm using West Country milk. Giuseppe flew over a small artisan cheesemaker from Italy to help with the cause, now that’s bad ass.
Alongside the food, Franco serves a selection of organic and natural wines, as well as their very own No Logo beer, pale ales and cider.
To celebrate opening in Bristol, Franco Manca are offering 100 free pizzas every day from tomorrow until Wednesday 15th. Free pizzas will be handed out on a first come, first served basis for those dining in the new restaurant only. Fifty pizzas will be given out from the opening with the final fifty from 6pm each day.
